Making Subsystems

by reimakesgames on

I’ve been working on the subsystems of this game, for example, this blogpost system. It’s been miserable but still somewhat a fun process, I guess. Making these subsystems is a lot of work, but it paves a way for this game to be more than just a game.

I make subsystems for shits n giggles, but also because my game’s scope isn’t big enough. So yeah, I made a crude but working open-graph image generator for all of my blogposts. It’s a simple system that generates an image from the blogpost’s title and author. So you’ve seen the image for this blogpost, right? That’s what I’m talking about.

I also created an unappreciated, voiceline recorder thingy. It’s a system that reads the game’s script and allows members to select a character, display the character’s voicelines, and a recorder to record the voicelines. It’s a somewhat complex system that requires so many interfacing with things.

Unsurprisingly, i make games. waow, who would’ve thought based on my internet name. So I’m also making a KSP clone just to test a bunch of stuff that might be useful for Neo. I’m not sure if I’ll finish it, but it’s a fun project to work on.

Here’s screenshots of Satisfactory, a game that I’ve been playing for a while now.

I think the Versatile Framework icon looks big in the UI, but it actually is small when you see it in the game. Shame.

I’m not sure what to write anymore, so I’ll just end it here.
